| Methodology |
| |
At Media Village, we recognize that there are essential differences in the language interests and goals of different individuals and follow a customized approach to learning.
Our courses allow our students to first get a basic working knowledge of General English and then later develop advanced skills in the language, through our Value Added Services. In this way we make certain that our students receive a program that is relevant to them. |
| In keeping with the MVLI philosophy of personalized training, we ensure that our course offerings meet the individual needs of every member and yet at the same time suit the organizational purpose. Each Candidate goes through different stages like Language Audit, Reporting and Post training Support.
|
Hence, we begin our Language Training program via a language audit, track performance, and a measurable reporting mechanism. At the end of the program and each module we provide post-training support. |
| |
| Language Audit |
| |
| At the outset our staff will conduct an initial assessment to evaluate the existing skills of the participants. This is followed by a needs analysis, after which, in consultation with you, we will agree upon a course to suit your work pattern and goals. We not only assess the language skills requirements of the participants, but match them to the existing or potential staff. |
The course can encompass typical job scenarios like: |
| |
|
Face to face contacts with business partners |
| |
Simulated telephone negotiations. |
| |
Common phraseology encountered during the daily course of business. |
| |
Technical vocabulary relevant to your business. |
| |
We will also recommend individual or group training, along with the cost and the duration of the sessions. We also offer onsite language audits. |
| |
| Reporting |
| |
| We recognize the fundamental need for traceable evidence of results in order to make informed decisions on training investments. Our method therefore includes a formal program of course tracking through: |
| |
| |
Pre-course assessment |
| |
Staged feedbacks |
| |
End-of-course reports |
| |
Final assessments |
| |
Certificates |
| |
| Post-Training Support |
| |
Post-training support in the form of exercises or projects is also offered to maintain continuity in learning. |
|
| Our difference |
| |
Our objective is to impart confidence in the student’s ability to speak English. We believe that in improving their oral communication or speaking skills we build confidence in the student to use English and further encourage him/her to develop reading and writing skills as well. |
| |
| Our principles |
In class the students learn by speaking and listening. They are encouraged to participate in ‘real life’ activities, role-plays and discussions where they are required to speak and listen to their colleagues and instructor. This gives them a chance to apply what they are learning and prepares them to face similar situations in the real world, confidently. The MV method is also significantly different from the lecture method since 70% of the class time is spent by the students speaking in the target language. Reading and writing are deliberately ignored during class. The students are required to work on these skills at home through the MVLI materials given to them when they register for a course. |

One-on-One |
| |
If you have specialized needs, or need to make progress quickly, or maybe just require that little bit more personal attention, we specialize in developing courses specifically to meet your needs. Many people like to learn with one or more friends, relatives or colleagues. As long as every member of the group has a similar level of English and similar needs, we can offer you the advantage of specialized training for your group. |
